Introduction
Mechanical filter also called pressure filter .Under the pressure , the raw water will access the media so that the inpurity will be removal. The main function is to reduce the turbidity of water, remove the suspended matter, organics, colloidal paticles, microbe,chlorine,bromine flavor and a part of heavy metal ion etc. Mechanical filter normally can be the pre-treatment of ion exchange soften or desalination,also can be used as coarse filt for the process water which not required high quality.mechanical filter can divide into ss mechanical filter ,carbon steel lined filter.based on the filter material ,divide into multimedia filter,quartz sand filter,manganese sand filter,fasciculus filter.based on the way of filling,divided into single flow filter ,double flow filter.
working principle
Mechanical filter packing was mainly used to reduce turbidity in the water, remove thesuspended solids, organic matter, colloid particles, microorganisms,chlorine,some heavy metal ions in the water,this is one of the tranditional water treatment methods to purify the water.
In water pre-treatment system, activated carbon filter can effectively adsorb remained chlorine (exceeding 98%) which cannot remove by former filter so that can protect reverse osmosis membranes out of oxidation. Besides, it can remove small molecule organic compounds and other polluting substances, obviously adsorb odor, colloidal, pigment, heavy metal, ect. Also can reduce COD and SDI valve before entering into reverse osmosis plant, to ensure that SDI<5, TOC<2.0ppm
